The Hub of the Partnership

To support and accompany the Rhineland-Palatinate/Rwanda partnership, a dedicated coordination office was established in Kigali in 1985. This office serves as a contact and cooperation point on the Rwandan side and is available to Rhineland-Palatinate partners for assistance and information. The coordination office supervises the majority of projects carried out within the framework of the partnership.

The central tasks include advising Rwandan partners on application procedures, accompanying project implementation, and controlling and accounting for the budget and donation funds used. In addition, the office supervises and accompanies trips by Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwandan delegations and advises individuals on trips to and from Rwanda.

For many questions and activities concerning the partnership in Rwanda, the coordination office has become an indispensable assistance and tries as much as possible to act as a mediator and to provide support within the scope of its capabilities. The coordination office understands its work as a service provider for the partnership. The independence of the partners is promoted and the coordination office only becomes active when this is expressly desired by the partner side.
