Remembrance Culture in Rwanda
The partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda has existed for more than 40 years and is today an internationally recognized model for efficient, citizen-oriented and decentralized development work.
But how does a country remember where there has been a comprehensive genocide? What form of remembrance has developed in the last 30 years? What was helpful, what has changed? How is remembrance shaped today?
For the anniversary year 2022, the management of the Partnership Association Rhineland-Palatinate/Rwanda e.V. was transferred from Michael Nieden to Christina Berthold after eleven years in office.
We look forward to examining these exciting questions together with Michael Nieden and Christina Berthold from the Partnership Association Rhineland-Palatinate/Rwanda e.V. on October 5, 2023, from 6 PM at the KZ Osthofen Memorial and to providing time for exchange.
