The Rhineland-Palatinate/Rwanda Partnership Association (e.V.) mourns the loss of Bernhard Vogel

With profound sorrow and deep sympathy, we bid farewell to Bernhard Vogel, former Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate and founder of our partnership.

As Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate, he established the partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda in 1982, initiating cooperation at the municipal level. This laid the foundation for the grassroots partnership and the creation of the Partnership Association. He remained closely connected to the partnership throughout his life.

Through his commitment to a vibrant cooperation based on solidarity and mutual respect, he enabled countless encounters and sustainably shaped the friendship between the people of Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda from the very beginning. His legacy will endure in our work and continue to guide us in the future.
